History

Provo was founded in 2019 by Roy Durr, a Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master Certificate in Project Management. Following a successful trajectory in management and design and execution of major infrastructure projects varying in size from $50 to $450M.

As President of AMC (Associated Mining Construction, a joint venture between Redpath and Thyssen), Roy led the successful design and sinking of 6m diameter shafts for Potash Corp to 1,123 meters, through water bearing strata, using innovate freezing and lining technologies to control water inflows into the shafts; a singular feat.

Canadian projects completed under Roy’s leadership include shaft rehabilitation and main conveyor way stabilization for Morton Salt; the detailed design, construction and completion of the Raglan Expansion Program for Xtrata’s Nickel mine in Quebec; and the design, construction and commissioning of a mine refrigeration plant, paste-fill plant and shaft for Falconbridge’s Kidd Mine D.
